WHAT: Baby Itsy Bitsy Yoga classes contain dozens of unique yoga postures designed to support baby's development. Each class is filled with calming, nurturing ways to enhance bonding and improve baby's sleep.
During a Baby Itsy Bitsy Yoga class, babies enjoy yoga while on their backs, tummies, or held in loving arms. For parents, this class is a special opportunity to meet other moms, get support, and learn about baby's emerging personality. Most of the yoga we do in Itsy Bitsy Yoga is for baby, but you will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques as you practice a bit of yoga yourself. No yoga is experience required.
Baby Itsy Bitsy Yoga was created by Helen Garabedian, an Infant Developmental Movement Educator, yoga teacher, and mother. Classes are taught by Hilarie Hsu, a trained Itsy Bitsy Yoga Facilitator.

We heard your request and set up a NEW class for our families to have an AFTERNOON CLASS time starting Friday, October 5th at 5 pm, every Friday!
Here are the details below, if you KNOW you want to sign your child up and are NEW to MyGym, as an OHM, you save the $50.00 registration fee. Returning Members, can't wait to have you in our class! Please note that they have amended their Practice and Play times (see below!)

COST: $80 every four week tuition for everyone is one class per week and one Practice&Play. Practice&Play are open gym times where teachers run some tumbling drills and slow activities. We have Practice&Play four times a week and you can come to any one of them, it is all ages and parents are required to come in with the children regardless of age. The times are Monday 3pm, Tuesday 1pm, Thursday 6:20pm and Friday 9am and they are 45 minutes. The Tuesday and Friday one are in addition to the old free play times.

The Friday 5pm class we are adding is called Mighty Mites and it's for 3.25 to 4.5 year olds. We do have the same class on Monday 11:45, Thursday 1pm, Friday 11:15 and Saturday 10:15. If you do miss your regular class you can do a make up class in another class.

This month's topic is Gentle Yoga by Candlelight, Dec 3, 2012.
Take time out before during the busy holiday season to restore and revitalize yourself with Yoga. The practice of Yoga allows us to give back to ourselves so that we feel renewed and abundantly replenished.
We will be joined by Nancy Guzzaldo, who has been practicing Sugi Yoga for sixteen years. Sugi Yoga uses gentle movement during postures to help practitioners explore, experience and deepen their understanding of their bodies and asanas (postures). A "less is more" approach keeps you safe and lets you improve in a gentle and healthful way. The gentle nature of this particular yoga and the "No Pain, More Gain" philosophy resonated deeply within Nancy and she has been lucky enough to share her passion with others.
It has been four years since Nancy began to teach yoga, and she has found her life to be completely transformed and enriched by this opportunity. Helping people improve their mobility and overall health is her calling.
Bring a candle and join us for some gentle stretching to help us all feel relaxed and ready for 2013!

This will be an exploratory time for children to interact with their caregivers with the supervision of qualified staff members. Please keep in mind that this is free play and will not be coach guided. We will, however, be there to keep all play safe and encourage caregivers to spend quality time with their little ones. Families do not have to be a member to participate but must sign a waiver before entering the gym floor. We hope this will allow families to have a fun and safe place to encourage play and physical activity.

Join in the fun as we have an open fire pit where we'll make delicious smores with our little ones and fellow families as we enjoy wine, hot chocolate, hot apple cider and if you could bring an appetizer to share, it'll complete our night around a warm fire with carols and holiday cheer!

Our "Little Ninja" Program will be geared towards the more playful aspects of martial arts. Students will learn how to punch, kick, & block. They will also learn stances and improve coordination. Most importantly they will have lots of fun. Each class will start off with a warm up routine to music and then we will move on to our karate activities. These activities will vary from class to class and include games, relays, obstacle courses, and more! Students will be continually reminded about when and where it is appropriate to use their karate moves. While the classes will be conducted primarily in English there will be a little bit Japanese thrown in which will mostly be numbers and a few names of our basic stances. (My pronunciation is slightly different than the traditional pronunciation in order to remain consistent with my teacher) Each class will end with the students lining up and doing a bow.

SYNOPSIS: Monsters, Inc. is a factory which sends monsters around the world to scare kids who are trying to sleep. It's nothing personal, in fact the screams are used to power Monstropolis where the monsters live. This job isn't easy for the monsters, who believe children are toxic.
Sulley (John Goodman), a large woolly blue monster, is one of the company's top scarers. Teamed up with a troublesome green one-eyed monster named Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), the two roommates and best friends are finding that today's kids are not as easily scared as they used to be.
One night Sulley accidentally lets a young girl named Boo into the monster world. Now Sulley and Mike must risk their own safety as they race to get Boo back into the human world without letting anyone in their dimension know of her existence. With Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi) sniffing around, it makes it almost impossible to complete their mission.

Exception: ZooLights will be closed December 24 & 25 so staff members may spend the holiday with family.
Hundreds of thousands of LED lights brighten Oakland's night sky. Highlights include a candy cane lane themed rides area, a night time adventure on the Outback Express train, rocking around the Christmas trees in the Children's Zoo, and a light show that's sure to blow out any bah hum bugs. Baby, when it's cold outside, warm up while watching the creepy crawlies in the Bug House. And, do snakes like holly? The Zoo elves are decking the halls of the Reptile Room with mistletoe and all things jolly!

Tilden Park Merry Go Round's Christmas Fantasy in the Woods 2012. The antique hand carved Tilden Park Merry Go Round in Berkeley, CA, will transform into magical and whimsical holiday spectacular this winter with its 14th Annual "Christmas Fantasy" program.
The fantasy experience involves an extensive array of outdoor holiday light displays and decorations covering the merry go round and surrounding grounds, creating a festive glow in the dark rolling hills of Tilden Park at night. The Merry-Go-Round itself is surrounded by sparkling Christmas trees with themes ranging from more traditional "Santa Tree" to the more eccentric "Vampire" or "Mardis Gras" decor.
One of the largest displays of Christmas lights, as well as ornaments for sale, in the Bay Area, it is a unique, must see collection for any enthusiast. In honor of the Merry Go Round's 100th birthday next year, Katherine's Collection has designed a custom commemorative Tilden Park Merry Go Round collection.
Delicious holiday sweets and seasonal warm beverages are served nightly. The holiday spirit continues with carolers, holiday character appearances, and visits from Santa and his live reindeer!
Entrance to the event and visits with Santa are free. $2 for one ride, or a book 7 rides for $10.
The Tilden Park Merry Go Round "Christmas Fantasy in the Woods" runs Nov. 23-Dec. 23, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Santa visits every night from 6-8 p.m. except Wednesdays.
After the New Year, the carousel will be open on the weekends, weather permitting.
